Do you have a passion for Norwich’s history? Love meeting new people and bringing stories to life? We’re looking for a charismatic communicator to join our team as an Experience Host for our much-loved Hidden Street Tour.

Since opening in 2017, Norwich’s Hidden Street has welcomed thousands of visitors keen to uncover the city’s buried past. From medieval alleyways to centuries-old tales, our tours have become one of Norwich’s top-rated attractions, helping to fund the vital community work we do through The Shoebox Community.

As an Experience Host, you’ll deliver high-quality, memorable tours that delight and inspire visitors. You’ll make sure every guest has a brilliant experience from the moment they arrive, sharing fascinating stories and ensuring the venue is always welcoming and well-presented. You’ll also help with day-to-day operations, from handling bookings and enquiries to supporting new experiences as they develop.

  • Has excellent storytelling and communication skills
  • Enjoys working with people and delivering exceptional customer service
  • Is enthusiastic about local history
  • Can work independently and take pride in creating a great visitor experience
  • Experience in public speaking, tour guiding or performing is desirable, but not essential – full training will be provided. Most importantly, we’re after someone who brings energy, warmth and curiosity to the role
  • Can offer flexibility with their availability

  • Hours: Average 18.5 hours per week (annualised, flexibility required to suit seasonality)
  • Pay: £12.60 per hour (Real Living Wage)
  • Shifts can be up to 10 hours maximum – the role is primarily to cover peak seasons, approximately 3 out of 4 weekends, staff holiday and unforeseen staff shortages
