As many of you know, we were expecting to lose the lease on our Castle Meadow community hub in April.

Due to the overwhelming response to our impending closure from our community, customers and supporters, our landlord has had a change of heart and our lease has now been extended for another three years!

This means we can continue to operate our Community Hub and our tours of Norwich’s ‘hidden street’, which help fund our community work.

Tom Gaskin CEO, The Shoebox Enterprises CIC announces our new lease

This is incredibly positive news as we know that this situation has been worrying for many of you, as well as our staff and volunteers.

Whilst we’re really pleased about this, we don’t want to find ourselves in this position again. The only way to secure the future of our community hub and the ‘hidden street’ below the venue is to purchase the building.

Crowdfunder campaign

We will be launching a Crowdfunder campaign soon (update 09.02.24: the campaign is now live!) to help raise funds to try and buy the building so we can secure its long term future. We’ll share a link to the campaign once it’s live and we’d be grateful for any support you can provide in donating or helping to spread the word.

Make sure you’ve signed up to receive our email newsletter to be the first to hear about our Crowdfunder and other important updates.

Thank you all so much for your continued support and we look forward to welcoming you back to The Shoebox soon!
