We’re Part of the Norwich History Festival!

We’re thrilled to announce that we will be part of the first Norwich History Festival – a fantastic celebration of the city’s rich and rebellious past. We have two exciting events lined up, and we can’t wait to welcome audiences keen to dig a little deeper into the stories that have shaped Norwich.

First up we have The Magnificent Marble Hall & The Bignolds on 18th July. This is a rare opportunity to step inside one of Norwich’s most stunning hidden gems, Surrey House. As part of this extended 90-minute tour, we’ll not only take you through the jaw-dropping architecture of the building but also explore the history of the Bignold family, founders of Norwich Union. Expect tales of ambition, scandal, and influence that left a lasting mark on the city and beyond. This event is now SOLD OUT, but to register for a waiting list in case of cancellations, please call our friendly team on 01603 850309.

Then, on 19th and 24th July, join us for an evening exploring the city’s rebellious history with Rebels and Radicals. We’ll begin with an evocative talk on events like the Bread Riots and the Great Blowe – fiery uprisings that revealed the determination of Norwich’s working people. Then, we’ll head beneath Castle Meadow for a guided tour of our Hidden Street, making sure to cover all the highlights but uncovering the seldom-seen street and its secrets.

We’re so proud to be part of this incredible festival and we can’t wait to share these powerful stories with you. Whether you’re drawn to grand architecture or gritty rebellion, there’s something unforgettable waiting for you.
