Our Stories, Our Power

Our Stories, Our Power supports local residents in the North City Centre area to strengthen their community, in ways that work for them. Whether you want to share your views, take part in activities, or just stay in the loop, you’re in the right place!

North City Centre

We’re working alongside residents in the North City Centre area of Norwich to explore how they can have more control over their community, the services they use and the decisions that affect their lives.

If you live in or around the following areas, we’d love to chat to you about getting involved: Magdalen Street, Mousehold Street, Bull Close Road, Pitt Street, St. Augustines Street, Sussex Street, Cowgate and Balfour Street.

Upcoming community events

We’re hosting friendly community pop-up events that bring people together, help turn ideas into action, and give you space to share your stories. The events will include a range of community activities to get involved in, free of charge, from arts and crafts to cooking!

We will also be recording a second series of our ‘Community Unboxed‘ podcast to take place during these pop-ups, supported and delivered by local residents and community organisations.

You could:

  • Support setup and welcome people at the pop-up events
  • Run or support a small activity
  • Join the ‘Community Unboxed’ podcast with a positive story to tell, or share some information on a service or group you run that supports your local community

We’d love to hear from you! Simply contact our friendly Community team and they will provide more information on how you can be a part of it!

Local groups and activities

We’re gathering a list of local activities and groups – run at low cost (and sometimes free) by people in your community. If you’ve got a local group you run and would like to let more people in your community know about it get in touch to be added to the list.

Or perhaps you have an idea on an activity or community group you’d like to setup but not sure where to start? Get in touch with our Community team who can point you in the right direction.

Stories from the community

We share local stories, learning and ideas from residents – celebrating what’s happening now and what’s possible next. Here are a few ways your story can be shared:

  • Podcast episodes. Share local places of interest, services, affordable activities, or general positive stories of ‘neighbourliness’!
  • Community newsletter. Get featured, see what’s on, and find out what services and support are available, in your local community.
  • Social Media. Follow our Social pages to stay in the loop or simply drop us a message.
