Whether you’re a knitting novice or needlework ninja, The Shoebox NEEDS YOU to help the Great Yarmouth Stitch-a-thon on September 12th 2024 bring people together to have fun and use their craft skills to make items that will be donated to local charities and non-profit organisations.

(We’re also holding a smaller Norwich Stitch-a-thon event!)

What is the Stitch-a-thon?

Coinciding with International Crochet day and International mindfulness day, The Great Yarmouth Stitch-a-thon is an all day event taking place on September 12th 2024 in 3 venues in Great Yarmouth and Gorleston.

The event at each venue will start at 10am and end at 4pm, you can stay all day or just come for a few hours.

It’ll be a great opportunity to get together with other people in the community, have fun, learn and share craft skills and make a range of knitted and stitched items which will be donated to local charities and non-profit organisations

You don’t have to be an expert, all materials, instructions and patterns will be provided and there’ll be plenty of help on hand for less experienced knitters and stitchers (we’ll also welcome volunteers to help greet people, provide refreshments and generally help out!)

Where are Stitch-a-thon events taking place?

  • DIAL and St.Georges theatre
  • Gorleston Pavilion Theatre
